500 is a great number

I just wanted to pop in and say that today...I reached 500 shop admirers! It is really exciting and awesome that 500 people felt compelled enough to favorite my etsy shop! Thanks to everyone who has!

And just a note: you can use the coupon code "YAYFALL" to receive 15% off your purchase (expires Oct.31st).

I love fall (like most people, I believe)...it's a wonderful time of hot coffee, sweaters, but no coats, apple cider, s'mores, tights, dark moody colors...ahhh yes.

mt. desert island

So, this post is very, very overdue.  This summer I went up to Mt. Desert Island with some of my friends and got the opportunity to do a little photo shoot with them. Basically, the result is a mini-lookbook shot by my friend Tiffany (she's the best!), modeled by my friend Sam (she's also the best!), and styled by me. I wish we could have done more...but the mosquitoes and heat got the best of us. All of these pieces are available in the shop (unless they have sold already).

my new home

So, yes...I have just moved! We're finally beginning to settle in our tiny new apartment in our awesome new neighborhood.  My college town wasn't well, much of anything, so it's great being able to walk about the neighborhood and find things to do (and eat) again, much to the disdain of my wallet.

Below are some bits and pieces of our apartment. I might do a tour in the future (when it's cleaner), but maybe not since I think the "tour" would fit in three photographs, haha.  We did thrift a lot of furniture and upcycled it, which was a lot of fun.
The attack cat cross stitch embroidery and the wooden whale cribbage board were both thrift finds.  My boyfriend and I have a penchant for picking up pretty much anything that strikes our fancy...let's just say a lot of things come home with us (not a great thing for our tiny apartment).
Also, for whatever reason, I decided to stencil the doors in our kitchen.  I probably put a little too much effort into it (it's one of those "can't stop until it's done" projects), for not too much of an outcome, but I like it.

Lastly, if anyone noticed....yes I changed my blog layout and design.  It was starting to feel a little juvenile to me...you know, especially since I'm a big ole'grown up now with an apartment and all that. Hope you like it.

one of everything, please

one // two // three // four // five // six

I always love it when people put together little collages of the things that they are currently lusting after! So, I made one, too...despite the weather outside (gloomy grey and 60 degrees), it is definitely going to be summer soon! What could be better than ice cream printed shorts and cut out oxfords?
And I always love a good pastel color...all these different pinkish hues go nicely together, don't ya think?

new things

Here is just a peek of what is to come...I am trying my hardest to get everything photographed and listed in the shop, but sometimes I just get distracted....by nice weather, tasty food, good music, terrible movies....you know...summer is almost here!

pin, pin, pin

So I, like many others, have succumbed to the pressures of society and signed up for a Pintrest account. Unfortunately, it is pretty much just as addictive as everyone says it is. You can follow me if you'd like here.

How do some bloggers do it? I always have the intention of posting regularly, but it seems like there is never any time...even though there is time for me to play Skyrim (yup, I'm that kinda girl).  Well, I have updated the shop a bit, so there is that. The floaty little number below is definitely one of my most favorite finds ever! It really is quite beautiful and the color is so unique!

In other news, I have been attending a few interview weekends here and there for grad school.  It looks like I will have some pretty big decisions to be making pretty soon. If only I could just graduate already and skip my last term! Ah....until...next time...whenever that may be!
